We stopped for one night on our way to Ocracoke as this was the only campground in this area. We stayed at site #1 overlooking 2 pools and the small lake. The campground appears to be family owned and the front desk staff are helpful and friendly. The place is dated, but I doubt small kids would care because there are plenty of activities…playgrounds, mini golf, a game room (we think it was closed when we arrived), big open fields with lots of running room for kids. There are some paddle boats and kayaks near the lake that we assume are for rent. The ladies bathroom was very clean with 3 commodes and 3 shower stalls with privacy. There is a space heater inside for colder weather. A laundry is on site next to the ladies room, though 1 of the 3 washers was out. The washers and dryers are $1.25 each. There are many full time residents with older RV’s and some that looked like weekend use places. The lake water was low, but we saw a gorgeous sunset over the lake. All in all, I’m glad we stopped as it was both quiet and friendly. But I could not stop humming the Green Acres TV theme song in my head!!! lol
When I go on vacation to my hometown in Jacksonville NC we will always go to green acres to have fun with family and friends. The best part for me is the pool and the arcade
Service staff very nice and very accommodating. Older RV campground with lots of permanent residents. Quite a few RVs that were trashed, or looked that way. We were in a row of mostly transient travelers.
Two nice pools. Game room with pool tables and video games. Mini golf course, just old.
Our space was nice and level. Grass was kept trimmed. Ants and nats were an issue so bring ant spray.
Overall had a good time. The cabins were decent, the RV sites were a bit overcrowded but still everyone seemed to be having a good time. The pond is catch and release for fishing only.
Love this place. Family has been coming ever since it opened to swim. My daughters favorite spot to be every weekend during the summer. Wouldn't change a thing.
Loved it there a bit to pricy !! $33 a day SMH $15-$20 is fair for a night of camping and they have electric and water at every site but still it’s camping $33 to much otherwise wonderful place great showers
I love the people and the owners are very nice and it's like home here is the place to be when you want to do some serious camping and it's the place to be if you're good person send me activities for children to do me and my kids and my husband loves it more than anyting
Came in slightly into off-season needing one-night stop with mini RV. Staff were all very nice - promised a spot on phone without taking credit card yet. Located way out in the country with beautiful views, pretty little lake, shade trees, very charming. Entrance lane is challenging after dark!
Bathrooms and showers however are like a horror from summer camp! Use you own vehicle’s facilities!
Would definitely go here again, in summer, arriving in daylight, with empty holding tank. 😎
